Are you competing in your first adventure race soon and not sure how to prepare? This advice will make your transition into the running, hiking, cycling and kayaking of adventure racing much smoother.

Taking the plunge and actually signing up for your first adventure race can be a somewhat daunting experience. Even if you're fit, an adventure race (or multi-sport race as they're also known) involves a step out of your comfort zone. After all, you have to get your mind around the fact that you'll be running, hiking, cycling and kayaking all in the same race.


Chances are, your experience in at least one of those disciplines will be lacking, but don't let that put you off. A huge number of people taking to the start line will also in the same boat as you.
